CHUCKANUT, Wash. — Crews still don’t have a set time they plan to reopen Chuckanut Drive at Milepost 12 after a rockslide on Wednesday.

The Department of Transportation reports they are using drones to help get a closer look at conditions without risking anyone’s safety and to reduce the amount of time it takes to survey the area.

The rockslide, just north of Taylor Shellfish Farms near the Whatcom-Skagit County line, was caused by the rain.

In addition to the rockslide closure, crews will close one lane of Chuckanut Drive between Teddy Bear Cove and Fairhaven Monday from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M., but work is weather dependent.
