SEATTLE, Wash. — When it comes to innovation, a new study shows Washington ranks third in the nation.
Only Massachusetts and Maryland rank higher than our state in WalletHub’s report.
WalletHub looked at 22 different metrics to evaluate each state and Washington consistently ranks in the top five, including for having the highest share of STEM – science, technology, engineering and math – professionals.
Mississippi is considered the least innovative, and is in the bottom five across most metrics.
The District of Columbia and California round out the top five.
