BELINGHAM, Wash. – The city of Bellingham has set up online citizen reporting of homeless and illegal encampments.
Bellingham Police Department neighborhood officer Eric Osterkamp says once an online complaint is received, the department sends out a Camp Coordinator and an officer to verify the camp location and to determine if it is on city or private property.
Osterkamp says officers then connect the camp occupants with services providing a timeline for when the site will be cleared.
