LYMAN, Wash. — Three Lyman property owners can breathe a small sigh of relief now that a FEMA grant will help purchase their homes, made uninhabitable after flood-related erosion on the Skagit River.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the county received $890,000 for what they’re calling the Lyman Slough Acquisition and Demolition Project.
A Skagit County spokeswoman says they are very lucky to get the money to help the stranded homeowners, since many pieces happened to fall into place at the right time.
It is still unclear how long the process will take.
