BIRCH BAY, Wash. – A future Birch Bay park has received a boost.
Whatcom County has been awarded a one million dollar grant for the Birch Bay Community Park on Birch Bay Drive.
The money is part of the recently passed state capital budget for 2017-2019.
The County bought land for the park for 2.46 million in 2014.
The Northern Light reports construction of the park likely will not start until 2020, after completion of the so-called Birch Bay Berm project.
