SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. – A man was booked into the Skagit County Jail Saturday after leading Sedro- Woolley police on a high speed chase in a car he allegedly stole.

Police say the man sped on Highway 9 South at speeds up to 85 miles an hour, with Sedro-Woolley Police, Mount Vernon Police, and The Washington State Patrol in pursuit.

State Troopers laid spike strips, resulting in two flat tires on the vehicle, which eventually ended up in a ditch.

The suspect then was said to have fled on foot and eventually subdued by taser after officers say he assumed a threatening stance.

Jail bookings records identify the man as Edwin Belford.
