ARLINGTON, Wash. — A 12-year-old Arlington girl died Monday after what police believe was an accidental shooting.
KOMO reports the girl and her mother were visiting her mother’s boyfriend in Cle Elum on Sunday and doing target practice.
The girl left behind her cocked and loaded rifle when she went to check a practice target she shot at.
The boyfriend noticed the gun and tried to make it safe, but it went off, hitting the girl.
She was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Sunday and was taken off life support Monday.
