OLYMPIA, Wash. — Facebook and Google face lawsuits from the Washington Attorney General.

On Monday AG Bob Ferguson filed campaign finance lawsuits, alleging the companies did not maintain legally required information on Washington State political advertising since 2013.

They are required to disclose the name and stance of candidates, date of the ad, its cost, and who paid for it.

The Attorney General’s Office received citizen action notices accusing Facebook and Google of not providing this information on their political ads.

The companies have twenty days to respond.
