SEATAC, Wash. — Washington is one of eight states suing the Trump Administration over the allegedly widespread separation of illegal immigrant families, despite President Trump’s executive order which addressed the issue.
During a Thursday press conference at SeaTac’s Federal Detention Center, Attorney General Bob Ferguson said the executive order was flawed because it wasn’t retroactive and that the caveats make it “meaningless.”
He announced he will lead a coalition of states challenging the current federal immigration policies, many of which were put in place for the safety of children.
This will be Ferguson’s 27th lawsuit against the Trump Administration.
