BELLINGHAM, Wash. — An Everson man is dead after Bellingham Police say he sped off from a traffic stop and crashed his car.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says an officer tried to pull the 21-year-old man over at about 1:30 A.M. Sunday, but lost sight of him after he sped off.
Officers soon found he had crashed his car in the 1300 block of Woburn Street, and despite efforts to save his life, he died of his injuries at PeaceHealth Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Murphy says they believe speed and DUI were behind the accident.
The man’s name is not being released until next of kin can be notified.
