BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Bellingham Police have arrested a suspect in a series of card skimmers installed at local gas stations.
Skimmers were recently found on gas pumps at a 76 station in Lynden and a Starvin’ Sam’s in Bellingham.
Lieutenant Claudia Murphy says officers arrested Oscar Ballester on June 23rd.
He faces charges of theft and identity theft.
Lt. Murphy says more arrests are expected.
She says the skimmers are installed internally and can’t be detected by the average customer.
