BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A group is now offering $2,500 for information leading to an arrest after two cats were shot in the Sunnyland neighborhood in the past month.
Sarah Richardson, whose cat was shot last Wednesday, tells KOMO that she’s worried, not only about pets in the neighborhood, but people, too.
“Someone who’s doing this just for fun or because they think it’s funny or whatever, it’s just a sick individual,” she said
Another cat was shot June 15, and Bellingham Police Lieutenant Danette Beckley says the shootings may be related.
Both cats survived, though one had to have a leg amputated.
Richardson and others put up reward posters around the neighborhood and spread the word through social media.
Beckley says they don’t have any suspects at this time.
