BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Card skimmers were found in more gas pumps in Bellingham.
Police Lieutenant Danette Beckley says an employee of the Starvin’ Sam’s 76 station on 12th Street in Fairhaven reported finding skimmers on six pumps.
This follows recent reports of skimmers in gas pumps at another station in Bellingham and one in Lynden.
Police arrested Oscar Ballester in connection with card skimmers last month and said at the time they expected more people were involved.
Beckley says if you’ve used your card at this station you should check for any fraudulent activity with your financial institution and report any incidents to police.
The skimmers are not visible from outside the pump, and debit cards are especially at risk as the skimmer can collect all your information.
