BIG LAKE, Wash. — A Skagit County Deputy shot a man Wednesday night after troopers say the man attacked another deputy with a knife.

The State Patrol says deputies responded to a hang-up 911 call at about 6:00 P.M. from a home on the east side of Big Lake.

Deputies say two brothers were fighting, and that as the deputies investigated, they say one brother grabbed a knife and attacked one of the deputies, at which point the second deputy shot the attacker.

The deputy suffered non-life threatening injuries, while the brother accused of attacking him was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
