STEHEKIN, Wash. — Before you head outdoors, beware of new campfire restrictions in the Lake Chelan area.
The National Park Service announced upcoming bans on campfires and lighting wood, briquettes or any fuel in all fire pits in the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area and the section of the North Cascades National Park within Chelan County.
Stoves or grills that are only fueled by liquid petroleum are still allowed.
The ban goes into effect Friday.
