MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Skagit County man faces seventeen years in prison for stabbing his father to death.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports 34-year-old Lane Maurice Davis of Bow was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
Court documents say he stabbed his father after arguing with his parents at their Samish Island home in July of 2017.
He accused them of being “leftists” and “pedophiles.”
Lane apologized to his family in court and his public defender said he was in intense emotional distress at the time of the incident.
An evaluation by a forensic psychiatrist showed that a combination of dissociative disorder and Asperger’s syndrome played a role in his loss of control.
