BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Alcoa donated thousands of dollars to Whatcom Community College for a second year.
The aluminum producing company announced they will award the college $30,000 this year, up from $25,000 last year, to support the expansion of their pre-engineering program.
WCC purchased start-up equipment and established dedicated program space with last year’s funds and they say their engineering transfer program is now more popular than ever.
The college will use this year’s Alcoa grant to provide classroom laptops and other essential program equipment.
