BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Peoples Bank is hiding piggy banks containing a total of more than $5,000 around Whatcom County as part of their “Pay it Forward Pigs” campaign.
A spokesperson says 173 piggies are out there, each holding $30, with the intention that the finder uses half of that to make someone’s day better, or “Pay it Forward.”
With “Pay it Forward Pigs,” Peoples Bank is trying to highlight the importance of saving money while also encouraging random acts of kindness.
Whether you find a pig or not, the bank encourages anyone to send in a photo and short explanation of how they paid it forward, giving them the chance to win $500 – $250 for them and $250 for the charity of their choice.
