BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Bellingham ranks among the best cities in the nation for working students.

Student Loan Hero released a report comparing local minimum wage and average tuition costs across 1,587 colleges in America.

According to the survey, Bellingham is among less than 3% of cities nationwide where minimum wage earnings could cover the cost of in-state tuition and fees.

These costs, however, don’t include book fees or room and board.

Four other Washington cities made Student Loan Hero’s list of best cities for working students, including Cheney — home of Eastern Washington University — which took the number one spot.

Olympia ranks 5th, Ellensburg 14th, and Bellingham 16th.
