MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A Marysville woman claims she was fired because she is pregnant.
Kameisha Denton has a text message from the restaurant manager of a Jersey Mike’s Subs that says it’s not a good time for the restaurant “to have someone who is leaving for maternity leave in several months.”
The store owner says the manager resigned because of the incident, and that he called Denton to apologize and offer her the job back, but she declined.
Washington law considers it unfair practice to discriminate against a woman due to pregnancy or childbirth.
