BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A new study suggests that Bellingham is deserving of a reputation for cautious drivers, relative to other Washington towns.
Insurance comparison website Quotewizard.com looked at the number of accidents, DUI’s, speeding tickets and other citations and found Bellingham is the fifth safest Washington city to drive in.
But Adam Johnson with Quotewizard says we start at a disadvantage as Washington ranks as the fifth worst state in the nation for safe drivers.
Moses Lake, Port Angeles, Bothell and Oak Harbor round out the top five in the survey.
Seattle ranks as the ninth safest city for drivers in Washington, which the surveyors say is may be due to its high population density.
