OLYMPIA, Wash. — The interim head of Washington’s largest psychiatric hospital has been officially appointed to the CEO position.
Dave Holt takes on leadership of the beleagured Western State Hospital just months after an unannounced inspection found so many health and safety violations that it lost its federal certification and $53 million in funding.
The Lakewood facility with more than 800 beds has been plagued by problems for years ranging from assaults on employees to dangerous patients escaping.
