BLAINE, Wash. — A Blaine teen is among three selected by FEMA to represent Washington and help promote disaster preparedness.

Teagan Grabish of Blaine, Gabrielle Karber of Vancouver and Ritusha Samal of Redmond will be part of the first regional Youth Preparedness Council.

FEMA says this year marks the kickoff of Region 10’s council, which covers Washington, Oregon, Alaska and Idaho, and coincides with National Preparedness Month and Back to School safety campaigns.

Grabish completed more than ninety hours of nursing assistant training and participated in the Map Your Neighborhood program before she was chosen to participate in the council.
