FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — Some of the teachers who were striking in Washington reached tentative deals over the weekend.

The Washington Education Association reported Monday that Seattle teachers are among those to reach deals while other districts remain on strike or have a strike pending if they don’t have agreements by the start of school.

Whatcom County schools reached agreements on salary negotiations and while some Skagit County schools have had friction during talks, Mount Vernon and others have also reached agreements.

The so-called “McCleary fix” required all Washington districts to renegotiate salaries with faculty after the legislation allotted more money to pay teachers.
