MAPLE FALLS, Wash. — A 62-year-old Maple Falls man is dead after crashing a pickup on Forest Service Road 1130 in east Whatcom County Tuesday night.
The State Patrol says the man, whose name has not yet been publicly released, was driving east when he drifted off the road and hit a stump.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the totaled truck was towed to the registered owner’s home.
Troopers are investigating what caused the accident.

State Patrol has identified the man as 62-year-old Jaromir Lahulek.
Investigators believe Lahulek had suffered some kind of medical problem which caused the crash.
