OLYMPIA, Wash. — Suicide rates in Washington are on the rise.
The Washington Department of Health reports suicide rates in Washington increased annually by 2.5 percent from 2006 to 2017.
1,300 Washingtonians died from suicide last year.
The Department urges people to join a national social media campaign with the hashtag “BeThe1To” which involves five actions to take to prevent suicide among people you know.
