BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Issues with emergency phones on Western’s campus are fixed.

Located throughout Western Washington University’s campus you’ll find Blue Light Emergency phones, and just over a week ago 20 to 30 of those phones stopped working.

These phones are for people needing a quick link to University Police for assistance.

The vendor for the phones couldn’t be reached because of their location near Hurricane Florence, to fix what was believed to be a software issue.

In a campus advisory e-mail sent out Thursday afternoon, Western reports University staff and an outside contractor corrected the problem and all phones are now working again.
