BIRCH BAY, Wash. — The Lummi Nation now owns a golf course.

The tribe announced it has purchased the Loomis Trail Golf Course near Blaine from an investment group.

Chairman Jeremiah Julius said in a news release that the property is “much more than a golf course” as it’s part of an area that’s very important to the tribe’s ancestors and the history of its people.

The property will continue to offer tribal members and others a chance to enjoy a day of golf and also gives the Lummi Nation School a home course for their golf team.
