OLYMPIA, Wash. — Five Washington State Patrol troopers have filed $1 million claims against the Patrol for carbon monoxide poisoning they say they got from their patrol vehicles.

They say the Patrol knew about the problem with the Ford vehicles and didn’t do enough about it.

The five troopers say they have lasting health effects.

After an investigation, Ford says the problem was caused by holes left when law enforcement equipment was installed by third parties.
