BELLINGHAM, Wash. — With sales plummeting for longstanding retailers like Kmart and Sears, Bellingham’s Kmart in Sunset Square is now preparing to shut down after forty-four years in business.
USA Today says Sears Holdings plans to close 142 unprofitable Kmart and Sears branches across the nation as they file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
No set time was available for the closing of the Bellingham store, or any possible liquidation sale.
