FERNDALE, Wash. — If you heard loud booms west of Ferndale on Tuesday, it was likely the Bellingham Police Department destroying old explosives.
Police say no people or property were in danger and their Hazardous Devices Unit completed the destruction without any issues.
The department distributed letters to nearby homes Monday to warn of the noise, which lasted less than a minute.
