BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police gave a local forensic artist a citizen commendation, thanking her for her sketches which have proved invaluable to catching criminals.
Bellingham Police Chief David Doll presented the award to Ellen Brown at a ceremony at the police station on Friday.
The award celebrates the work Brown has done to help out the Investigative Division with creating sketches for criminal cases, which the department says have led to a number of positive identifications and arrests.
Chief Doll told Brown, “For this service, we thank you as it most certainly is a key element in helping to make our community safer. Your actions demonstrate that you are truly committed to your community, living our mission of the Bellingham Police Department.”
