MOUNT BAKER, Wash. — The road to Artist Point officially closed for the season as of Sunday.
The State Department of Transportation says the last stretch of the Mount Baker Highway was open for 130 days this year, making it the second longest season on record, right behind 2015 when it was open 171 days.
While vehicles are no longer permitted on the road, Artist Point is still accessible on foot, snowshoes or fat-tire bicycles.
The road usually reopens by July.
