BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Bellingham Police Department and the Traffic Safety Commission will host a remembrance event for local victims of fatal road traffic accidents Thursday evening.
The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is a worldwide event on the 3rd Sunday of each November.
The ceremony at 5:00pm will honor the 25 Whatcom County victims killed over the last year and thank first responders with speakers from several law enforcement agencies taking part.
To conclude the event at Bellingham City Hall, marchers will hold a procession around the block holding flame-less candles to symbolize and commemorate each of the 25 victims.
