BELLINGHAM, Wash. — After months of work, a new road behind Costco is now open to traffic.
The City of Bellingham says Mahogany Avenue will provide direct access to new development projects, plus give better traffic and freight access to take pressure off West Bakerview as the only east-west corridor.
Roadway improvements include two travel lanes, bike lanes, lights, landscaping, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.
Drivers should watch out for crews doing any finishing work.
