The Seattle Mariners have named Tim Laker their new hitting coach. He replaces Edgar Martinez who took a new role in the organization. Laker was a major-league catcher for 11 seasons.
Laker spent the last two seasons as an assistant hitting coach with the Cleveland Indians.
