BLAINE, Wash. — A Skagit County nursing assistant can no longer care for or have unsupervised access to vulnerable adults after charges that she stole more than $100,000 from the Blaine woman she was caring for.
Kimberly Ann Stavig was arrested on multiple charges in January after the financial advisor for the elderly Blaine woman contacted Adult Protective Services noticing several large money transfers.
Court documents state investigators found Stavig had made dozens of unauthorized withdrawals and money transfers between January 2016 and August 2017, totaling about $106,000, that she used for personal purchases.
The Department of Health recently finalized their findings, charging Stavig with unprofessional conduct and suspending her license.
Stavig has a trial set for January 2019.
