ELLENSBURG, Wash. — An Ellensburg woman is among 10 nationwide honorees of the “I Love My Librarian Award,” announced Tuesday by the American Library Association.
Ginny Blackson is the Managing Associate Dean and Head of Collection Development at Central Washington University and was described in her nomination as a “powerhouse of ideas, gumption and action,” with “sincere care for the students she teaches” and others she interacts with.
The ALA says this is the first year it will livestream the award ceremony, which you can watch on their Facebook page Tuesday at 2 PM.
The winners were nominated by local library users and will receive $5,000.
