BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The U.S. Department of Education awarded Whatcom Community College more than $2 million in grants.
WCC says the grants will support many of their long-term goals to strengthen teaching and learning, student success, career prep, and equitable student outcomes.
A majority of the funding will help create a teaching and learning center for faculty and staff in addition to a student welcome center that will improve the college entry and advising experience.
The smaller of the two grants will provide funding for cybersecurity training resources to enhance instruction and prepare students for modern workforce needs.
Last September, WCC also received several million in federal grants for the development of their cybersecurity program.
