EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A former Everett student pled guilty to multiple charges, including attempted first degree murder, after his grandmother reported his plans to carry out a mass shooting at his school.

Joshua Alexander O’Connor was arrested in February when his grandmother found his journal where he detailed plans to kill as many people as possible at ACES High School.

Police say the 18-year-old idolized other mass shooters and had stockpiled weapons and explosives.

He was arrested the day before he was to carry out the shooting and faces up to 28 years in prison.
