BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A Whatcom County nurse has been charged with unprofessional conduct.
Karen Marie Benkarksi allegedly violated a substance abuse monitoring contract in place with the Washington State Department of Health, testing positive for hydrocodone.
The health department leveled the charges against Benkarski last month, saying she allegedly forged about 46 prescriptions and about nine prescription information forms.
