BLAINE, Wash. — Someone threatened to bomb the City Hall building in Blaine last week.
On Thursday, December 13, Blaine Police reported an extortion attempt via email from someone threatening to detonate a bomb in the building if their demands were not met.
The police department says an investigation determined the threat was not credible, and was similar to other unsubstantiated threats against government agencies statewide.
Blaine Police Chief Allen Schubert says the government office was not affected by the hoax.
