GLACIER, Wash. — Cooler, wetter weather has helped the Cascade snowpack to rebound and has created great conditions for skiers and snowboarders.
The Seattle Times reports a warm, dry November had the mountain snowpack at just 38% of the normal level in early December.
But a series of storms boosted that to 99% of normal in the North Cascades.
The Mount Baker Ski Area reports a base of 124 inches at Pan Dome and 88 inches at Heather Meadows this morning.
We rely on the snowpack for summer river and stream flows and for water supplies for residents and agriculture.
