BELLINGHAM, Wash. — A 20-year-old Bellingham man was taken to the hospital late New Year’s Eve when the driver of the car he was in crashed on Lake Whatcom Boulevard.
The State Patrol says the driver of the Chevy Tahoe was eastbound in the 2700 block of Lake Whatcom Boulevard when they started to drift off the road, overcorrected and spun out before hitting a utility pole.
The driver fled the scene and left behind injured passenger Hunter G. Bills, who was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center.
Charges are pending the identification and arrest of the driver.
