OLYMPIA, Wash. — Seattle residents are currently feeling the “squeeze” as they deal with the Alaskan Way Viaduct closure, but even without that piece of frustration, Washington is considered the 3rd worst state for drivers.
Between its high car theft rate, gas prices, and poor road quality, WalletHub puts Washington behind only Hawaii and Alaska as the worst state to drive in.
The only rankings that offset Washington’s poor performance in most areas are the number of auto repair shops and car dealerships per capita, where we rate just above average.
Our immediate neighbor to the south Oregon received the top ranking as 2019’s Best State to Drive In.
