BELLINGHAM, Wash. — If you’re a parent affected by the government shutdown, public school administrators want to help.
Bellingham Public Schools is showing their commitment to supporting affected families by inviting them to apply for free or reduced-price meals.
They say usually income eligibility guidelines for reduced-price meals are based on annual income, but they can use adjusted criteria on the application during the partial government shutdown.
The district wants to make sure all students have access to nutritious meals even if they are unable to pay.
