SEATTLE, Wash. — Sea-Tac Airport could start to see security checkpoint closures if the government shutdown drags on.
The union representing TSA workers at Sea-Tac says 10% of the workforce called out sick on Sunday.
A union representative says if that number rises to 15% they’ll be forced to close some checkpoints.
KOMO reports that a group of federal workers made a demonstration outside the airport Tuesday afternoon, imploring the government to end the partial government shutdown.
TSA workers, air traffic controllers, and more held a rally out in front of Sea-Tac airport Tuesday, imploring the powers that be to reopen the government for the sake of employees working without pay or on furlough.
