EVERSON, Wash. — A statewide group of farm advocates have sent a letter to the Washington State legislature calling on them to protect family farms.

The letter details the precarious state of many family farms in Washington and noted issues being considered by this legislative session that could affect farming.

Issues include pesticides, energy costs, labor, fish habitat, water access and climate change.

President of Save Family Farming Larry Stap says, “This letter is intended to encourage them to talk to us, learn about the realities of farming and consider the many negative consequences if they take action to cause further loss of our family farms”.
