OLYMPIA, Wash. — A bill that would have increased fees on hair stylists who rent chairs or booths from salon owners has been clipped.
KOMO reports the sponsor says she’s withdrawn the bill following intense opposition.
Sen. Karen Keiser says she was just trying to level the playing field on taxes between salon owners and renters, but stylists have protested over worries it would have put them out of business.
