BOW, Wash. — An 84-year-old Bow woman is dead after she was hit by an SUV while crossing Chuckanut Drive Sunday afternoon.
The State Patrol says Patricia J. Markel was crossing the road outside of a crosswalk just east of Bow.
An approaching driver from Camas slowed down, but still hit Markel with the front left corner of their SUV.
Markel later died at the hospital.
The driver isn’t facing any charges with troopers saying Markel failed to yield the right of way.
